Denise and I are overwhelmed by God’s grace and mercy to us as we welcome our second child, Anna Sloan, into His world. She was born at 6:58am on October 10 after 4 hours of labor…that’s right, 4 hours. For a second there, I thought we were going to be delivering her at home. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 20 inches long. Denise has recovered beautifully and Anna Sloan has transitioned smoothly. We welcomed Brett’s mother on Saturday and she has been indispensable in helping us transition. We welcome any and all meals by friends and strangers.

We cannot believe we have 2, but they are so much fun…Jackson has been so great with her, showering her with kisses…so sweet.

Anna is GORGEOUS. What a beautiful baby, and we know she is as sweet as she looks. God has indeed been gracious to you in giving you this precious gift of life, both in your baby daughter and in your new church. We miss you all, and yet we know that the Lord will use you in wonderful ways in your new church and city.

I’m not going to lie…4 hours of labor for Denise was great, but it was a little unnerving for me as her “coach.” Her pain was pretty intense and that was without her water breaking. At one point I thought I was going to deliver her at home…I knew it was time to get to the hospital…good thing I did because she was born an hour later.
